Dream Dragon's Charitable Donation Program:
Caring Is Sharing

The staff of Dragon Tales Publishing has always believed that it is very important to try to help out our community.  Our staff members have been involved in numerous different activities, ranging from food and clothing drives benefiting homeless shelters and food banks, to donations of books to youth groups and children's literacy programs, to donations of goods to assist developmentally disabled children. 

The company employees recently collected non-perishable food items and was able to donate over 250 pounds of food to a food drive sponsored by talk radio station 97.1.  This donation was to benefit one of the Orange County Food Banks, which really need all of our help.  We are happy to lend our support and offer our assistance to worthy causes like this.

Our founder, Gerald Kostecka, has even been a plasma donor for a specialized donation center.  Mr. Kostecka went through a series of Blood System Stimulation Injections and now his plasma is collected and used to make RhoGAM, a drug used to stop birth defects in expectant mothers.  Mr. Kostecka has been a regular donor of this program for several years. 

To further the assistance we can offer, Dragon Tales Publishing has created the Dream Dragon "Caring Is Sharing" Charitable Donation Program.  Through this program Dragon Tales Publishing will donate a portion of the net profits generated from the sale of our books and products.  This donation will be divided equally among the participating Non-Profit Organizations.  In most cases these will be organizations that, in some way, help children.  We urge you to remember these vital organizations and the most important thing that they offer...HOPE!  Even if you do not support our participants by purchasing Dream Dragon related products, please lend your support directly to the charity.

Kids Cancer Connection is dedicated to creating and sponsoring programs designed to address the social, emotional and educational needs of children battling cancer and providing support to their families.

Through the generous contributions of private and business sponsors, Kids Cancer Connection is provided with a means to offer a wide range of activities and fun for those very special kids and their families.This past year we have been celebrating our10th Anniversary and for 10 years we have been dedicated to making our kids as happy and as comfortable as possible and to bringing a smile to the faces of the families whose lives we touch.  During these 10 years our Glad Tidings holiday cards have spread holiday cheer across the nation.  The art on the card is done by a child who has had or has cancer.  The kids take great pride in their creations and each year several are selected for printing.  Each artist whose card is printed is given a $1,000.00 educational grant.  July, 1999 we awarded $7,000.00 in grants to last years artists.  These cards are a wonderful way to extend your holiday greetings to friends, family and business associates while also giving our kids the gift of "Hope".  The Kids Cancer Connection expresses their heartfelt thanks for your ever present love and concern for our kids and their families.

Our lives are the product of our personal experiences. Driven by our experiences, and secure in the knowledge that good people can sometimes be blind to bad situations, we at The Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation pledge our time, our energy and our voices in an effort to educate the national community to the dangers of family violence. By supporting programs that respond to the causes of such violence, we will facilitate treatment of both victim and aggressor.

The Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation is a granting Foundation. Our mission is to help fund organizations that shelter and protect families caught in the crisis of family violence and support long term solutions. We work with groups offering a safe place and educational programs specializing in rehabilitation and job training. Our pledge is to continue our work until family violence is completely eradicated.

In an effort to ensure that Nicole did not die in vain, we have established The Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation in her memory.

Free Arts for Abused Children is a registered non-profit organization that integrates the healing and therapeutic power of the arts into the lives of children and youth who have been abused or families who are designated as ³at risk." Free Arts for Abused Children recruits, trains, and places volunteers to work hands-on with victims of abuse. Dance, drama, writing, music, painting and other avenues of creativity encourage children to channel emotions, release anger, and develop positive methods of communication. Artistic expression builds confidence and self-esteem. The philosophy behind all Free Arts for Abused Children programs is simply that, ³Art Heals."
