The Dream Dragon "Caring Is Sharing" Book Donation

On
Saturday, May 6, 2000 at 2:00 pm Barnes & Noble,
in Costa Mesa, CA,
hosted the first Dream Dragon "Caring Is Sharing"
Book Donation Event!
Dragon
Tales Publishing, the creator of the Dream Dragon
children’s character, sponsored the book
donation event held at the Barnes & Noble,
Metro Pointe, 901 South Coast Drive, Costa Mesa,
CA 92626.
This event is part of the Dream Dragon "Caring
Is Sharing" Charitable Donation Program.
During the event Dragon Tales Publishing donated
650 copies of the recently published Dream Dragon
Tuck ‘em in Bedtime Story picture book, Dream
Time Friend. The donation benefited several
Orange County Children’s Literacy Programs,
including Project Together and the Orange County
Public Library Family Literacy Program.
The event included a formal presentation of the
donated books, being accepted by Sue Goble of
the Orange County Public Library Literacy Services
and Sylvia Valles of Children and Youth Services
– Project Together. There was also a give-away
drawing for FREE autographed copies of Dream
Time Friend picture books, a story time reading
of Dream Time Friend for all the kids and
an appearance by special guest speaker,
award winning cartoonist, Roger Armstrong.
In addition to speaking at the event, Mr. Armstrong
was also presented with the
Dream
Dragon Lifetime Achievement Award
for
his artistic contributions during his almost 60
year professional career. Refreshments were served
and there were fun activities for the kids!
